We can freely switch between them while building a shelter, exploring the world, and searching nearby buildings for resources necessary for survival.

It was developed by The Coalition (previously known as Black Tusk), studio established by a long-time producer of the series, Rod Fergusson. Wasteland 2 was developed by Brian Fargo’s (the creator of the original Wasteland) inXile Entertainment Studio with financial support from the community via Kickstarter crowdfunding. The story is set 15 years after the events of the first game. You play as a member of the Desert Rangers and traverse the titular Wasteland - what is left of the United States after a nuclear war.

The story is set after the events presented in Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes, which served as a prologue. The main hero – Punished Snake – awakes in a hospital bed after having spent 8 years in a coma.
